On the south coast of Île de Ré, Sainte-Marie-de-Ré can be picked out on your left as soon as you have crossed the bridge, by the slender point of its bell tower. La Rochelle 15 minutes away, a thalassotherapy centre, beaches for shore fishing and stretches of sand, two village centres with shops on the Place d'Antioche and the Place des Tilleuls in La Noue, and a peaceful, rural atmosphere by the sea.
